I receive two books in the mail to review yesterday. One is a children's holy bible. I have given that to my daughter. I told her Sunday when the pastor recites a verse she now can look it up and understand it better. As she doesn't understand from an adult bible. The other book is a book about the stories told in the bible. That way she can reference to them in the bible. I will be helping her with both. I am excited.
Do you like to read religious books? Or any book for that matter?

I would've included a link to Amazon's offer of that book (just 'to prove that it's a real book' ... although the chance at some extra money if anyone buys it wouldn't hurt
)
I read my Bible, but more as 'a meditation-guide' than as 'a history or a story-book or advice-on-life or something.' See, "baptism" means 'being submerged'; so I 'submerge' my mind in the scripture by reading it out-loud. I guess it's fun to think it's trying to 'teach' something, but it's not ... probably
It even says "Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard what God has ready for those who love him." I read that (with some other passages---like in Job, where he says his thoughts & reasoning are far-above humans') as 'We humans will never-ever (in these bodies) "understand" all the missions God has planned for our futures.'
"Why read what you won't understand?" Same reason Nichiren Buddhists recite whole 'books' of Korean Sanskrit, same reason American public-school students recited "the Pledge of Allegiance" everyday (with the same understanding of 'allegiance' as they have of "De-do-do-do, De-da-da-da" or "Ba-wit-da-ba, da-Dang, da-Dang diggy-diggy" etc.)
I once heard a preacher compare it to 'eating regularly' (actually, he was talking about "listening to the weekly sermon," but it all gets digested by the same organ): you don't remember the exact food you ate for a meal you had 4 weeks ago, but it's a good bet that you had "something!"

I am an Amazon affiliate already. Last time I knew it was against the rules to share links to affiliate websites or could make us money. I do plan on adding the link when I write about these two books more in depth on my blog.

@rusty2rusty I think you are right, you could not add the link, but since your responder did,I hope it will be okay. Great idea to have some guidance for your daughter at her reading level. She looks pleased.

@GardenGerty a) I think you can use affiliate-links as long as the post isn't "a sales-letter" (i.e. the post is about 'something that doesn't require you to "buy something" (or even "visit the link!") to participate). Links here are more 'for verification purposes' than anything else,
and b) the link I added isn't 'an affiliate-link.' Yes, it is "a link to an affiliate-program"; but I don't get any credit for anyone's visit (except for 'credit with the visitor as a friend who's got connections'
)

Yes I love all books and I think its a wonderful idea to let her review these books, I would let the pastor know she just got them so they can have a talk.

I will do that. I know they will be noticed when she brings them in. She is chatty that way.

My children had a youngsters version of the Bible when they were young. I love to read and include religious books in my collection

The smaller book is for younger children. My daughter is 16 but her reading level is much lower for her age. She is doing much better reading but not understanding what she reads. This bible is more her speed.
