Multiple streams of income

If you're not familiar with it, it basically says that having one source of income isn't practical anymore in our digital age. Like having only your daytime job isn't really enough to make you prosper. Some may have an additional part-time job, being a virtual assistant, blogger, freelancer, and others are into selling something or having a small business.
So what do you think about having a multiple streams of income? In addition to your primary source of income, do you already have something on the side or planning to start one?

I think that it is good to have more that one income just to be on the safe side in case something happens to the one income you have the other to fall back on.

@hillhjill congratulations and good luck on your new job. So I think most of us here really do have our own multiple sources of income. Do you think the other paying sites that you mentioned can be shared?

Yes, I have my full-time job and I use my photographs to make and design things that I sell on a few different sites. My main site being Zazzle but I use a few more because - you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket. . it is working out pretty good I have been paid from 5 sites now and I also do Surveys to add to my Paypal acct.. I can then access it with my debit card and can buy anything from groceries to gas or just save it for a big ticket item. like a new camera or something.

@aeisle sadly, no, my full-time job doesn't deal in photography. I answer phones, for an answering service 3rd shift. it can be slow at times which actually gives me time to do my other online work at the same time.. Effeciently using the same hours for both "jobs". I use a site called Pinecone Research for my surveys which sadly is only for the US. They are really awesome as they pay $3 for every survey and periodically send you stuff to try and then do a follow up survey on. They only have open enrollment periodically too.

@minx267 I kind of expected it actually. Most people often have passion different from what they do on their day job. But I think its also a good thing because we can still look forward on doing what we love that is different from what we have to do. Your situation is also good because your job gives you the perfect opportunity to do the other job.
about the survey, that's a shame, maybe I should look for a legit research company that offers surveys internationally.

Wow! that's great @minx267! so is your full-time job related to photography or are you just doing it out of passion while profiting from it at the same time?
I also heard a lot of paid Surveys from before never got serious on them because I didn't think that they were that good. But if it adds to your Paypal acct somehow then maybe you can share it too? hopefully its available internationally though.

Unfortunately, we can only do things for a time. Maybe you should consider doing something that will give you passive income in the future. That way you won't have to spend time doing them but will still give you income. Then you can start doing another passive thing again. Like me, I'm working on our rental properties which should give me passive income then start another project when the first one is already stable.
Better yet, try profiting from your hobbies, at least you will able to do them and give you that extra income as a reward.

Wow @louievill! That sure is a lot!!! I have to admit I was quite stunned reading it. You must have spending a lot if after all of those is just enough. Anyways, good luck and I hope that you get to do more of what you love.

I absolutely agree with you. I support you steadily. You are right. I also need a multiple streams of income. Until now they are in addition to my primary source of income. I'm a blogger and freelancer. Also sometimes I sell something. Now I will be trying to give under rent my small real estate. Also I plan to teach online.

In todays day and age, you almost need multiple forms of income in order to survive. There is nothing wrong with having a job, but having something on the side to help bring some extra income in when you need some. Personally I sell online, and OfferUp, at shows, Flea Markets, Yard Sales etc.

Yes, the cost of living increasing day by day and our income is stable. I have my regular job and I work in mylot alone in my free time which is not sufficient to pay any extra income. May be I am not active much with the site.
I tried surveys but no reliable site is not found yet. Most of the surveys requires some qualifications which I do not meet mostly and it reduces my interest to go further with any survey.

I actually gave up on surveys before back I was still very active on making money online. But maybe I should give it a try again this time. They are out there, we just need to discover them. Maybe I can let you if found a good one.
By the way, maybe you should also try online jobs or maybe if you have other skills that you are not using in your regular day job. One like @minx267 is already doing. Its a good thing that we can learn from each other in here.

Yes @Jackalyn, we also have this Preacher who also talks practical life topics and he calls the sources of income as our "Money Machines". Not those that print money illegally but kind of like our Golden Egg laying Goose. Instead of selling the golden eggs, we let them hatch and grow instead so we will have multiple Geese that lays more golden eggs over time.

I'm single without children or anyone depending on me. Still, I work a full-time job in a firm. Then, work on projects of my regular clients on Upwork for at least 40 hours a week. I distribute it, bill some hours at night time and work for long hours on weekends just so I could reach 40 hours. I also do translation tasks for some site, regularly post on my blogs and visit some earning sites. Been working simultaneously on these jobs for years now. I enjoy it. It's nice to have multiple sources of income. I like the feeling of being financially secure.

That's good to know from you @rina110383! I tried to do the Upwork before too but I can't seem to win the bids though and same goes for other freelance sites. Maybe I needed to learn more on how to win the bids better. I also planning to start a blog but I may start of as free for now then migrate later if I already have a lot of posts.
By the way, do you have multiple blog sites or just one? I heard most bloggers are actually maintaining more than one blog.

I think having mutiple streams of income is good to have . My income does not cover the cost of living every month. The extra income can get food or pay a bill.
