Lots of tomatoes! ;)

. Before we left to travel to the Philippines, we told the boys to harvest the tomatoes and use them so they don't go to waste and keep the rest in the fridge for me.. I would normally make sauce out of the abundant harvest, but they were not ready before we left.. The boys didn't bother , so we lost a lot..But we have some left which I roasted in the oven to make toppings for pizza and to mix with our salads. We grow a lot of our own veggies like silver beets, bok choy, broccoli and corn and we freeze them.. Do you also grow your own fruits and veggies?.. Bess ..

@JustBhem even if you are only renting an apartment or a place without a garden, you can try to plant in pots..

I only grow butternut pumpkins usually. We are hopeless gardeners.

We also grow pumpkins ;) .. If travel is mostly what's in your mind , it's hard to maintain a garden .. We are also planning to travel more now so we can't attend to a lot of gardening ...

@epiffanie Sometimes I think the travelling is a good excuse for being lousy gardeners.

You are so lucky! The deer eat everything we have, even flowers. We once had a fenced in garden which I loved. Now, I grow a few things on our deck.

Wow.... That's wonderful to have our own vegetables n fruits. In our old home, my dad grew many vegetables n fruits. The mango tree was already there before we moved there and they were the sweetest mangoes i have ever tasted in life..

The moral of the lesson is: ask the right person for help. I think if you have asked your neighbors to harvest for you, and let them keep a share of it, they will gladly do so.

I used to, mostly citrus, mango, malunggay, guava and macadamia nuts then. I have herbs and citrus now. Same thing happened to my garden when I went away. That's a lot of tomatoes!

Yes we grow some vegetables like lady's finger, aubergine, tomatoes, and spinach. It is good to plant veggies at home than buying from outside. It will be pesticide free.
