I kind of freaked out yesterday when my fingers started feeling numb. I had just peeled and washed some zucchini. I googled and found out that this is a real thing..squash can cause it too. Who knew??

Right, who knew? I thought all veggies are safe to be handled.

There is a residue that is hard to remove but eventually washes off.

I never had that happen to me, but then I would be peeling courgettes. Actually, I don't peel them anyway. I leave the skin on. I wonder why we in the UK use a different word?

I leave some of the skin so they looked striped after I've peeled them. I've peeled them many times and this is the first time it happened.

I have no idea. I will remember that when I peel zucchini again.
