Have You Ever Had a Day Like This?

I had my day all planned yesterday. I was determined to go to the Post Card exhibit and I was also determined that if I didn’t find some post cards to purchase there, that I would go to Staples and have some made. I found out that Staples will take a personal photo and make a post card out of it. You can then order as many as you want. I went through all my photo albums looking for the perfect photo. Finally, after an hour or so, I found a couple that might work. So, off I went to the Museum to see the Post Card exhibit, finally. Would you believe it? The museum is NOT OPEN on Mondays. I should have checked on that first, but I didn’t. So, I drove all across town for nothing AND I will have to go back. It's like I am never going to get to go to this exhibit that I have been trying to get to for almost a month. So, then I said, well I still don’t know if they will have any post cards to buy, so I decided NOT to go to Staples either. Instead, I ended up going to a Thrift Store, near the museum, that I don’t get to very often, “since I was in the neighborhood.” Then, I decided to go to the Cracker Barrel Restaurant and have dinner, although I don’t like eating by myself, but “I was in the neighborhood,” and I was hungry, since I had only eaten a banana for breakfast and hadn’t had lunch either. Would you believe? Even though it was 5PM, the restaurant wasn’t crowded, but I stood there for a good ten minutes before I was finally seated and I was the first one in line. Then, I sat at the table for another ten minutes before a server finally showed up to take my order. It was 5:38 when my meal arrived. And then, just as I started to take my first bite, a baby at a nearby table began to cry, piercing my ears, with the loudest cry I think I have ever heard come out of baby’s mouth. And he cried and screamed and just about drove us all crazy. Finally, after another ten minutes, which seemed like an hour, the mother took him out of the dining room. By then, I was not hungry anymore and decided to take the food home. It’s still in the refrigerator. What a day!

Too bad there isn't a family section so screaming babies only bother others who have screaming babies.

I'm usually not that sensitive to babies crying but this baby was so loud, I could not believe it. And the mother should have exited the dining room a LONG time before she actually did. Everyone was looking at her and were very upset with her.

@IreneVincent I think we try to be understanding, but at some point common courtesy has to kick in.

@AmbiePam I have children. I know babies cry. But, this was ridiculous.

Yes, I have had many days like that and worse. Some days nothing will go right no matter how well you have made your plans.

Yesterday was definitely one of those days. "Murphy's Law" day. Whatever can go wrong, WILL go wrong.

Yes, I absolutely hate days when it seems nothing goes my way.

Well, I'm going to try again tomorrow and see if I can get to the exhibit. I joined postcrossings.com and I NEED more post cards. I have almost ran out of post cards.
