I love that they have made a whole movie on PBS Masterpiece theater about the Bronte sisters. I read about this show a while back and thought how I love reading and watching things about famous authors especially ones that I read and enjoyed their books. Wurthering Heights and Jane Eyre have been 2 of my favorite written by 2 different Bronte sisters.
This has been an eye opening show about how they all went by mens names because of people then thinking women could not write really good things. I knew about some but never realized they had to do it also.
and their brother dealing with alcohol addiction, etc. I am right at that point where they had to come out as women to the publisher.
btw, I found out I could get PBS free on my Roku by putting in a code online and the tv stations name for this area. Still learning marvelous things about my little Roku. lol.
now back to the show. be back to catch up here in a bit.

My kids are both too old to care to about PBS anymore. I used to love watching those shows with them it was such a nice channel. I remember watching it when I was little as well. I have never read anything by the Bronte sisters. Were they truly sister's or just a group of women writing as men who sort of formed a team?

@bunnybon7 it sounds like an interesting story about this family. I find it interesting that all three of the sisters were writers. Usually there is much different talent in families.

oh they were sisters i think there were 5 and one brother that painted and sculptured , but he was such a drunk he didn't turn out well. i think only 3 sisters wrote and never married. and lived with their father that was very religious. sort of kept to themselves a lot. so many people wondered how they could write such romantic poems and novels.
you should watch it. a good movie showing how things were back then for women
