No I don't think so. I mean, I am 22 and I still don't think I fully understand what love is and what love means. I don't even think I fully understand the love a parent feels to a child, I only know how I feel about my family. So at 12 I think there is so much to learn before you can really understand what love is. It is a complex thing. you can feel it, but perhaps you don't really know it, or know what it is.

Love doesn't have age limits. However, people experience and know love in many different ways. The older one gets the more one has the mental capacity to understand the depths of love. So, yes, a twelve year old knows what love is and he/she will continue to understand it more and more throughout life.

I think a 12 year old knows what love is. There are many different kinds of love! A happy 12 year old should have already experienced many kinds of love. Just not romantic love... I dont think its possible for a 12 year old to understand the true depths of love - they arent capable of such understanding yet...

I think anyone and everyone knows what love is and can feel it. Does a 12 yr old know how to handle a true relationship or understand the complexities, no. They are still growing and learning. That doesn't mean their love is any less intense than a 21 year old or a 31 year old. Their heart breaks just the same.
