Do you think it is good for children to follow a vegan diet?

I would strongly oppose a vegan diet for children unless they have to because their allergies dictate it and the doctor advises it. For the rest of the children it seems like a horrible idea. The nutrition for growing children is way more complicated than it is for adults.

As long as they are eating a proper vegan/vegetarian diet they will be fine. Just like with meat eater there are healthy diets and unhealthy diets. Just because they are vegan/vegetarian doesn't necessarily means it is healthy but if done properly it is totally healthy for a child to have be on a vegan/vegetarian diet.

A vegan diet can be very balanced and healthy but one should know how to do it. Good to learn from those that have done it for many years and thrived on it.

I think no one has a say in what individual children are to eat than their own parents. While the rest of the world might not agree with it, it's the childs parents perrogative.
