Have you ever noticed how closely music and memories are tied together? I can hear a song from long ago and a clear memories of what I was doing and who I was with will pop into my mind. Even now I have an instant memories of walking hand and hand with my first love with him singing "My Girl". It is a special memory for me. We had broken up recently, I was broken hearted, and was sure I just couldn't go on without him. He showed up at my house about a week after we broke up and asked if we could take a walk and talk. Of course I said yes. We talked, got back together, and ended up getting engaged a year later. Anyway, after we made up we kept walking and he held my hand and just started singing "MyGirl". It will always be a special song for me. Do you have a special song and memory?

The song 'Picture' by kid rock and sheryl crow is my song with my daughter. When she was a newborn-3months old i would sing it to her all the time so whenever she cried, i would sing it and it'd be the only thing to make her stop.

That's so sweet. I used to sing "you are my sunshine" to my oldest daughter to quieten her. She didn't sleep much as an infant so she heard it a lot.

@Courtlynn Mine had colic which kept her up a lot. Back in those days they did not have a suitable solution for colic.

Hi hi !! I don't have a special song , but I love the way songs can inspire and touch our souls. Reach our emotions and bring back memories ! Frank Sinatra makes me think of my father, always . Love your My Girl ...

"I,m Going to Love You Forever" by Randy Travis always reminds me of my father. It was the only song he sang as he sank into dementia.

@HazySue thank you for sharing, such a personal truth. The power of the mind, and heart, to remember a song - despite the challenges of dementia -,a song so loved by your Dad. Xxx

It's funny how that works. We are no longer together but it was fun while it lasted.

Congratulations! Music is beautiful! Sometimes music makes me peaceful, sometimes makes me excited. I love music. But I haven't a special song and memory.
