What is the most inhuman thing you have ever seen? / myLot

I know an widow old woman lived near to my home. Whole life she sacrificed for her son who is now working in USA as an engineer. He married and back to USA with his wife. Never felt for his helpless mom. Now it is 10 years over. He met his mom for just 3 to 4 times in these years. Now the old woman is very seek, want to see her son but her son is 'so busy' that he has no time to meet his mom! Sometimes I think why mothers sacrifice their life for their children? why they get only sorrow against their pure love?

I think it's also the American mentality. We aren't really taught here to care for our old people any longer. They go into special homes where we hope people are qualified to care for them. We feel that is how we show them love.

@barnathegr8 I agree completely, except that my parents disowned me. I am not in their living will or their end of time will. I don't even know their health status currently. I am a part of my grandparent's lives, though. I will help my uncle if they ever need help and get to that point. I hope my kids are seeing from my example with them. I really don't want to be left to a home, either.
