Does anyone can or garden here?

So, I'm kind of a rebellious canner. I was wondering if people here would be interested in that kind of thing? Like today we ate my homemade hotdogs and speghetti O's. Kind of like Chef Bouradie, but all homemade. Would anyone be interested in posts like that? I grow my own veggies, use a local farm for our meat, and then I preserve it myself. What isn't exciting about that, right?
The clearest images on the market made the Hummingbird Fish Finder LCRs huge hits, topping the sales charts in both the fishing world and the general boating world...

@EmrysCat Why do you need your kids to eat chutney? I make it only for myself. My husband doesn't like it. So what? I do like it.

Oh, I have never made chutney before! That sounds interesting. I might have to see if my kids will eat that.

@MALUSE They don't have to like it. I want to see if they do.

You sound like a real homesteader. We have just taken over a small homestead, have chickens, turkeys and sheep - will be gardening and canning as soon as the whether picks up. We do have a youtube channel if you fancy seeing what we do.

That sounds awesome! I would love to subscribe to it. I already follow a lot of them. We are renting right now on this farm, but we hope to have a few acres of our own to go fully off grid.

@EmrysCat It is hard to go fully off grid - we are trying, and aim to be fully of grid within 3 years. It costs alot to initially set up. . . We have our own water supply from 2 wells and springs. In April we will be able to have 50% of our electricity from wind power, and hopefully next year the remaining 50% from solar. Food, we are looking at fish (we live on an island with fab fishing), rabbits (millions of them eating crops) chickens and ducks, wild geese and lamb. . . Veggies from the garden. We also make our own sea salt. . . Getting there but loads of lessons to learn. You'll have a fine time!

@destry Oh, that sounds like a great time, actually. We can't wait to just be able to not be in the mad rush for life alone. That is our goal, at least.

I enjoy canning and growing produce also. I'm interested in posts that give me new ideas for healthy ways to eat correctly year round.

Awesome! I can almost every week something in this house, or I find sales on dry items. I don't mind posting.

We grow a lot of veggies too! My husband has made sausage but we haven't made hot dogs.

@EmrysCat Well, if the kids love them, they must be great.

@EmrysCat That is super awesome! I don't know if I would actually create a garden, but it would be cool.

Thanks! I thought so, too. I started doing this seven years ago. It has been a great adventure!

Many people here garden and can. We don't eat meat, so foods that grow on our land and from area growers are often canned.

I don't either, but three of my four kids eat meat. I find canning calms me, no matter what is going into the jars.

What us a rebellious canner? I've canned many things over the years...basic tomatoes, applesauce, peaches, pears, grape juice and many kinds of jam. I didn't consider myself rebellious....merely frugal.

That's pretty cool. How do you make your homemade hotdogs?

I took some of the extras from the turkeys I got from the neighbor and put them through my meat grinding machine. I bought the casings at the store. I will have to go back to remember the brand. I didn't save that information, just remember the look. LOL. Hope I can find the same ones next time the kids want me to make more.
