Welcoming realization.

More scared of the water than getting drowned.
How is it?
When we went to this island last December, I, we never expect to see something, to be welcomed with a realization how much people had been uncaring/careless with their trash.
Pile of garbage floating into the water.
Where those trash coming from?
Asked our guide, and he told me that those trash were from Manila, washed away and reached the island.
The island is historic and beautiful, being welcomed with pile of garbage is not, it is more of painful truth, that "discipline" in some people is a big issue.
Sigh, heaving that deep sigh.

You've been to Guatemala before, Fredo? I don't remember knowing that before. I shared a few pictures of my trip there on a mission trip a few years ago while on the B site.

You can call it a lack of discipline or maybe laziness would be more to the point.

@Lucky15 Was your image there before? I don't think I saw it when reading this the first time. That looks even scarier than your description of it. Yikes!

That is awful, too see that trash makes my heart hurt. I hope they find a way to get rid of trash and stop putting it in the water. Everything is recycled here so there is no excuse to toss it into the wild.

Really, those are the trashes from Manila. I think the Philippines has a general problem on trashes as to where they should really be thrown.
That is also the problem at the subdivision where we live. You can see that some people would place their trash by the side of the road, expecting that it will be picked up by the garbage truck, when it has been months already that has stopped because the landfill for Daraga has been closed already by DENR since it has no permit. Thus, it will be scavenged by dogs and scatter by the roadside.
For our trash, my brother-in-law together with our boy helper, would gather all our trashes in big plastic garbage plastic, and drives and throw them at the next town where there is a dumping site for them.

Ouch! Which island is this? So we can avoid going to the island. Of course we don't want to spoil our getaway seeing trash.

Humans can make a mess of everything. While it is illegal to litter here in the USA and one can be fined, people often do it @Lucky15

people are careless and do not think of the consequences of their action. once mother nature takes its course, the same people who violate nature will not be able to regret any longer if the wrath comes to them.
