While we were staying in Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia, Vince went out early one morning to take photos of the sunrise. This is one of them. Many of us myLotters enjoy sunrise and sunset photos and someone will always comment on how no two are ever the same.
The caravan park we were staying at was right at the mouth of the inlet. We were treated to many displays by the local pelicans which frequent the area. They seem to float through the air with no effort at all. There is never any frantic flapping. In flight, pelicans always remind me of flying boats.

Denmark Australia, very funny. Illinois has some strange town names as well. Your picture doesn't show. Ah there it is, and it's stunning.

Seeing Denmark I thought you must have hopped over here for the weekend. It is a beautiful picture but due to its darkness it looks quite an angry photo. If we saw that here we would think we were in for it with rain. I am so sorry to read of the devastation in Australia with the terrible flooding,.

It actually turned into a beautiful day so we were lucky. Luckily for us, the flooding is on the other side of the country but they aren't over it yet. On the news last night we watched a whole house floating down the river and only a short time before they had managed to rescue two adults, two children and two dogs from the roof of it. The rescuers, in a boat, said they'd never been so frightened. I hope they at least get medals out of it. They'll probably get nightmares.

I can understand that. There was a fair bit of grumbling as he got out of a nice warm bed so early and when off into the cold!
