Our move has officially begun!

It's been a hectic few weeks, but we've found a new place to call home. If you've read some of my previous discussions, you might remember that I was feeling pretty down because the search for a rental wasn't going well. Every property we called about was either out of our price range or already had a wait list, and we were debating the merits of moving out of state and starting over (again) closer to my husband's family. Well, the perfect place fell into our laps when a coworker mentioned that two of the units in his complex were coming available at the beginning of April. His landlord stopped by the store with an application for us to fill out that day, and he handed it off to us with the warning that she was ready to go now and we needed to jump on it if we were serious. So we applied, sight unseen, and she didn't even bother pulling our credit reports before approving us. My husband got to tour the property, but I was working and didn't get to see it until I met the landlord there to sign all the paperwork and put down the deposits. And while I'm really not happy about paying so much more than we have been, it's everything we wanted it to be. The kitchen is amazing, with tons of cabinet and counter space. There are tons of closets for storage. Seriously, each bedroom has two! The bedrooms are bigger, we get all of the floor space in the living room because there's no wood stove to work around, and we even have a garage now! All without having to move across the country and find new positions in another state! The one downside is that we have a teeny tiny patio for our backyard... but a few yards away from our front door is a city park with a big grassy area and some decent playground equipment. Not gonna lie, I'm really liking the idea of not having to maintain anything outdoors. Well, enough yakking for this morning... I've got stuff to move! Have a great day, y'all!
