My mulberry tree is dying

Have you ever noticed that sometimes where the birds perch eventually there'll be a sprout which turns out to be a tree?
Well, back in 1997 I had a fence that I used to help create shade for the pups, as it turned out the birds like to perch on the end posts and by 1998 I noticed a tree seedling. It was bearing mulberry tree.
Long story short, the tree produced fruit from about 2002 until last year. In the above shot you can see Mykey lickin his chops, he loved mulberries. It's not doing so well anymore, it has this nasty sappy spot on it's trunk which is probably bore worm. I wish I knew how to rid myself of this pest.
Well, at least I still have my chinaberry trees, Ally eats those brown berries. Aren't dogs weird sometimes?

I have some palm trees given to me by birds. I could have never bought them. They are too expensive.

Oh, yuck at Ally eating the chinaberries! I hate that you are losing your mulberry tree. Have you tried looking online to find a solution?

Not yet, I remember how hard it was for mom to get rid of bore worms, they killed her plumb tree and one of her peach trees. But then again this is a desert and none of these trees would be a natural occurrence here

Believe it or not I got that Mulberry tree going again, maybe it was just too hot and dry in 2017, who knows.

No, not dogs, they're toxic to goats and I think also sheep. Could even be toxic to horses.

Sorry about your tree. Mulberries are very hardy, though, they can even live in Arizona! Here, we have to trim them back drastically each year or they'll grow out of control and take over the yards and roads.
Dogs are funny! It's only been the last couple of years I knew that grapes were bad for dogs but all my dogs over the years loved them. I used to buy carrots for my dog Domino, he loved them, and Gus could eat broccoli all day. Gus loved apples but Cookie would not touch them, preferring pears instead.
My vet said feed the dogs all the fruits and vegetables they wanted with the exception of onions (they loved them), grapes and a few other things. Dogs have strange appetites!

Most dogs won't eat most fruits, their digestive systems are simple, designed to process meats, omnivores like bears and people, have more complicated digestive systems to process the different foods we're meant to eat. Some veggies can be toxic to pups or cats but I suppose it depends on the individual. I've heard that nuts aren't good for dogs yet our family's pekinese loved hazel nuts, she lived from 1965 to probably about 1976 or so.

I loved eating mulberries...I have photos of the grandkids when I took them to my parents house to enjoy the mulberries. They had such fun.
