We finished our shopping and have probably overdone it, but the big present this year for our kids is an XBOX 360. They're also getting new bikes and helmets and quite a few toys. I think they'll be happy! Thanks for everyone's comments. The hardest toy for us to find ended up being the Playhouse Disney toy... it looks like the Mickey Mouse Playhouse on the new show that airs. Everyone was sold out, but we finally found it at EToys... I think they then sold out the day after we ordered.

I have a 5 year old son and Transformers seem to be very popular with him and his friends. My daughter is 8 and not into dolls at all. Her main things she wants this year are My Little Pony castle and the Biggest Littlest Pet Shop. I am seeing a lot of Bratz (yuck) and Disney Princess stuff for girls, so it must be some of the more popular stuff. Both of my kids love video games to.

yah I need some ideas too, as my son will be 5, and my daughter will be 4...and they're pleased by absolutely anything, but i wanna make it good for them. my boy wnats roller skates. lol

Was just at walmart this evening and of course they are gearing up for the big christmas push..I see for girls that the princess and 12??? what ever that is but anyways is all over so I do take it that will be a hot toy. Not sure for the boys...

Two years back I bought control cars for my two boys as a christmas gift, but i was very hurt to see the two Remote control cars was spoil on the same day due to rough handling ! I told to myself no more expensive gift !

I like to let my kids finger through the Toys R Us catalog, the flyers and commercials. They will let you know what they are interested in. You can even let them circle items. I have a five year old boy and well, he's happy with anything! Enjoy it while it lasts... just wait until they are teens!
