I Think the Storms Broke Spring, by Huckleberry the Cat, Kitty Blogger

Meow again to all.
I have a big problem. When the storms came by my house the other day, I think they broke spring.
Things were getting nice and toasty on my couch when the sun shines through the holes in the blinds on my windows. (How the holes got there is a story for another day, but it has to do with my side business as a window treatment redesigner.)
But ever since the storms happened, it’s been cold.
Cold, cold, cold, cold, cold.
My mama says the past couple of nights have been cold. It’s still warm outside during the day, but not warm enough to warm the house up. She says she has turned the furnace off, and it’s going to stay off until November.
Apparently, we’re going to enjoy a month or two of cheap electric bills, even if we freeze to death.
It will warm up outside tomorrow, she says.
That does me no good inside today.
I have a fur coat, she says.
What does that have to do with anything?
Sincerely, Huckleberry the Cat, Kitty Blogger

Dearest Huckie-the-window-treatments-redesigner - It's Auntie Mildred the Cat. You do have some problems there. My mom is on the cheap electric and oil bill kick also. She justs adds some thermal underwear to her wardrobe and everything is fine and dandy for her. I have no thermal underwear. I don't want any either. They are really ugly and I'm too beautiful to cover up like that.
Hopefully, better days are coming for us both, Huckie. Do your best to tolerate the situation, like I am.

Dear Auntie Mildred the Cat,
Are all humans so cheap? My mama asked if I wanted a sweater, but isn't that something for dogs? I think I'll stick with my blankets and the sunshine through the front glass door. It's still cold in the house. I hope Mama is right about it warming up on it's own, but I miss warm air blowing out of the vents.
Love, the Hucksickle

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled I have pondered the windows here, I shall need to provide adequate napping spots once we are adopted by a kitteh

It finally did! I've been enjoying sitting by the glass door, feeling the warmth on my face, and watching the crazy squirrels in my yard.

@Jessicalynnt Windows are a most wonderful invention. My mama keeps insisting on covering mine up with blinds, but I'm taking care of those little by little and soon there won't be much left of them.

If it's any consolation, I'm cold, too. Somedays I don't even change out of my PJ's unless I go out because my robe is warmer than any coat I own. I don't have cold weather clothes since I so rarely need them here. Wonder where all that global warming they keep talking about went. I think it's past time for me to retire to my electric blanket and go to sleep.

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled I"m not all that fond of real clothes, either.

Dear Miss Barb,
My mama likes to stay in her thermals and sweat pants, too, and wear thick flannel shirts for jackets. She says it's a writer's prerogative. She's not all that fond of real clothes.
Love, Huckleberry

Oh Huckleberry, I feel ya. Me and my 13 buddies feel the same way about our Mom @nanette64 . She does the same thing and we all have to huddle together to share warmth. It's a good thing she's got beds and blankets for all of us. Hang in there; @OldRoadsOnceTraveled loves ya. Sincerely Cry Baby.

It's a very nice blanket. My mama thinks it belongs to her, but it's really mine.

@OldRoadsOnceTraveled Dear Huck, we are still very warm in our part of the world - I wish it would get cooler soon as it's tough wearing a black fur coat when the sun shines so much. Maybe it will go to your house tomorrow because mama says it's going to rain again - Sylph

@bwjsdems Dear Sylph,
I don't care so much about the rain because I like to stay inside. But when the rain keeps my sun from shining, that's an issue. My mama says we'll be warm soon enough.
