New Phone Means New Ringtones

Yesterday after lunch I went out and enjoyed the day. One of the things I did was go to see my dad and what's left of his ear (he had a large part of his ear removed because of skin cancer).
On the way home I saw a store for my phone carrier and thought about how they've been sending me messages that my lease on the iPhone is about to expire. So, I stopped in and got a new phone...the iPhone 7!!!
One bad thing about that, though, is that the custom-made ringtones don't transfer. Everything else does, but the ringtones don't.
Last night, therefore was dedicated to making new ringtones for the new phone.
I repeated my favorites (my brother still has "Reveille Rock") and did some things I'd been planning to.
The VA, for instance, now has a ringtone of Harry Nilsson's "You're Breaking My Heart." (No, I did not include the profanity part in the ringtone...wanted to, though! ) I gave my dad a different Carl Smith song for a ringtone. All my co-workers now have "Welcome to the Working Week" by Elvis Costello as a ringtone.
It is a detailed process (you have to insert the time for the clip of the song you want, save it, go back and return the original song to its full time, move the clip to the desktop, delete the clip from iTunes, change the extension to a ringtone extension, save it back to iTunes, then load it on the phone...phew! Did you get that? There'll be a test! ), but it's worth it to have something other than a standard tone!
I picked this song because my brother used to wake me up with it when we were little. (Our 45 of the song was red, not orange.)

I just have a standard ringtone. My old phone had "(Don't Fear) The Reaper."

@FourWalls - A classic sketch. Will Farrell's enthusiasm is hilarious.

Interesting on how you did that, since I am the only person on the planet without a cell phone I have no idea what you said. All my kids have I phones and all have different ring tones. I have an iPad so I can talk to them and my computer is an Apple too. We are thinking of getting a cellphone for the car but it won't be an iPhone.

I started smart phone life with an Android but found it way too buggy. They do still have the flip phones if you don't want to go the smart phone route.

I like that song. My good old mobile just has an interesting but simple ring. Hope you enjoy your new ringtones.

My ringtone for my husband is Hail to the Chief. I thought it was rather appropriate. My daughter's if Fur Elise because she used to play it on the piano. My son's is Old Time Rock and Roll, and my grandson's is Glorious Day.

I use to have a cat mewo-ing as my ring tone. It drove people crazy all the time and the reactions were so much fun to watch.
