Americans can sleep easier today. The head of the "This is IRS [sic], we are calling to inform you that you owe money to IRS [sic]. This is final warning [sic]!" scamming phone calls has been busted. Sagar Thakkar was arrested in India. It is claimed that he was the ringleader of the IRS phone scams that has victims in the US numbering in the hundreds of thousands, despite the fact that the IRS has repeatedly told people that they DO NOT CALL people. A ring of call center workers was also broken up in October 2016. Kudos to the authorities in the US and India who helped arrest this person! And this reminder, Americans, you only have eight days.....
