We have a famous celebrity in our country who adopted a child. Adoption is difficult to attain. There's a lot of requirements. They need to see all angles of legality. It's hard.

When I was teaching in my first teaching post I had two adopted children in my class. The little girl was adopted by a young couple. She was their only child. The little boy in my class had been adopted with his older brother and younger sister. They had been living on the streets and the boy had very bad emotional problems due to this. His older brother had lost all of his hair due to stress. Her sister couldn't remember her bad past luckily. In another teaching post there was a Colombian girl that has been taken away from her dangerous family. Her foster parents wanted to keep her however the school said the husband was too old. They had a farm with lots of animals that the little girl loved. She was taken away and adopted another couple without any pets. I know a famous person called Nicky Campbell and he works on television. It takes around 24 months to adopt a child in the UK and it is very hard to do.

In America, adoption has always been encouraged. Angelina Jolie made it even acceptable to adopt children from another country. So, in the USA, adoption is a good thing. I don't know about the process. I just have friends who have adopted. The only complaint was that one of my friends adopted a child who had critical health issues and she said it would have been nice to know something about the biological parents for that reason. Other than that, no problems.

Adoption is okay in the country. But not most are being really adopted. A lot of kids here with parents that are separated were given away to their aunts and uncles, some are to friends but they weren't adopted legally. Our controversial Presidential candidate last year is adopted by a famous star couple here.
