I know you may think me antique, have not got my former physique, but if you are so bold as to tell me I'm old I'll think it a damn awful cheek. As old age creeps in I have fears that stiffness and aches will bring tears, when I tripped and stumbled and down the stairs tumbled, I'd not moved that fast in some years! Now sadly it's quite plain to see that wolf whistles just aren't for me, my brain is not addled but my face is raddled, that's enough to make the guys flee. A lady's not meant for a beard, but as you get older it's weird, a joke nature's played your eyebrows do fade and onto your chin reappeared. From glasses I cannot be free and deafness is coming for me, and it's surely not right I can't get through the night without getting up for a pee. I've got a false hip, it is true perhaps now I'll be good as new might even be able to dance on the table, oh - was that a pig that just flew?

Your vision of aging is true Enough to make all of us blue The wrinkles are deep the stairs way too steep I think I'll just say "oh screw"

@computerguy1980 That's a very unpleasant thing to say, but I won't delete your remark so other people can see how crass you are.

Lol! Terrific poem! Luckily, I'm not quite there yet. My motto is, you're as young as you feel, and I feel great! Hope it lasts. Sigh......

@DianneN You probably realise that I have exaggerated a little, but there is a vestige of truth in all I have written

@jaboUK I realize that you have exaggerated a little, and am aware that there is a smattering of truth to it.

Very well done Janet! Its been a (worthwhile) wait to read one of your very famously funny poems, and this one was certainly not a disappointment! I really enjoyed it-and sadly I felt that I could relate to some of it too!

Congratulations Janet, your poems are always great and put a smile on my face. I am sure that you cannot complain and you are still healthy without not many age related problems.

@fishtiger58 Yes, I may have exaggerated a bit, but it's best to poke fun at old age, rather than feel sorry for ourselves

Love the poetry. You are only as old as you feel. Of course, after six boys, I get up during the night to pee often!

None of us is getting any younger: Except the Dalek, a mechanical wonder - Gliding on silent wheels, I do wonder how it feels When it can't sense the end of its plunger...
