Eating Something Cold This Very Hot Day

My husband invited me to have halo-halo in a nearby restaurant. He is very fond of this Filipino dessert called "halo-halo".
Although this is a cold dessert and very in demand during hot weather like what we are having today, I think this is not really refreshing but rather making me feel even more thirsty because it is sweet and milky. So after eating my halo-halo, I had to drink a lot of water.
Our weather is so hot these days so I keep drinking water to get refreshed.
How is your weather?

We are having a sunny and warm day with no humidity to ruin it. I think the halo-halo looks delicious! I already had over two glasses of water and am about to have another soon. I drink lots of water whether it's hot or not. Hope you cool off soon.

It is sunny and quite nice for this time of year. I don't think I could deal with the heat that you are having there. It would be miserable. You are doing right by drinking lots of water to stay refreshed. You dessert looks good.

I crave for cold things when it is hot like halo-halo and ice cream but the sugar in them would make us thirstier so it had been my practice since I was young to drink twice an equal amount of fresh clean water to neutralize and flush the bad elements, halo-halo to be fair has lots of healthy energy packed ingredients.

@salonga yes and most bad elements on food could be neutralized by water

IT is yummy dear! And so it's Autumn in your place with strange swing in temperature. Our hottest so far has been 46 degrees, imagine that. But there was rain last night and the it helped to lower the temperature somehow. I think you were once talking of how hot it was in your place so you know for sure how uncomfortable it is in our place right now.

@salonga I could never forget the months of March and April while we were still in the Philippines (That's 25 years ago) after a bout of tennis during hot days we used to take off our shirts and squeezed them to get rid of sweats . . Here in Canada I just perspire a bit playing tennis during summer. During spring, fall, and winter . . . I don't perspire at all . . . This must be the reason why my hairline is receding. . .

lol, I don't think that is the reason for your receding hairline because many of my friends here also suffer the same problem when they do perspire a lot!.
So you've not visited our country for 25 years already? You surely will not be comfortable anymore with the weather here.

@salonga Sadly no . . Coz I am not ready to kick the bucket yet. I was involved a bit in politics in our province at a young age . . . I am scared that if I come back for a visit, while I get off the plane walking and smiling on arrival . . I may be lying down peacefully in a coffin with cotton stuck in my nose being lifted in the plane . . . . Just kidding . . I may be coming home next year for a much needed visit.

If we could have some of your heat and we could give you some of our cold, we would both be happy.

@1hopefulman Last night it rained for few minutes and the other day it did rain harder too for a couple of minutes and so the sudden rain really helps.

It is made of shaved ice made creamy by evaporated milk and sweetened by the mixture of sweet coconut strips, sweetened kidney beans, leche flan, purple yam, topiaca, sweetened banana and sweet potato, topped up with toasted immature grains of glutinous rice and a scoop of ice cream.

@Lupita234 We don't have that here. I would need to look up a recipe for it to find out how to make it.

Two words - Philippine summer!
Is that 'halo-halo' from Max's?
I think I'll get the ice cream taho later from that ice cream shop that I pass by when going home.

We had a brief rain a while ago but not enough to cool down the temperature.
