I have no idea if you live in an apartment or a house. Get the kids interested in growing something? They could write to someone like Grandma- even the little one could send something, a drawing perhaps. I also don't know if you live near something like a zoo. Anyway, this is what pops up in my brain. Take them on hikes?

@Kaligirl13 Even pots of growing things, like flowers are fun for kids and adults- a good way to share life with the next generation. Just teach them to love bees, please. I know someone who freaked when she found out that bees make it so that we have food to eat. She did not like having bees around. Ever. They're just another, smaller life. I remember taking my daughter out when she was a toddler- we'd make leaf people and look for wildlife- that's probably when she learned to love snakes.

You could take them to the park, swimming, the zoo, let them play outside ( if they are like mine they can always find something to get into outside) get items such as sandbox with sand and toys to play with in it, waterguns, balls,small swimming pool, swing set etc.., they could plant a vegetable or flower garden.

Swimming
Cooking (not for the 3 year old one painting is better for him/her)
And gardening.
