Entitled Millenials

Why do many early-20 year old millenials feel they are entitled to make top dollar with no relevant work experience or even any work experience in general? That's great that they have graduated college with a bachelors degree, but don't think that this will land them a 6 figure paying job. They need to work hard and start from the bottom. I have a coworker who constantly complains that she is "only" making "20-something" an hour. Mind you this is her first job EVER! I've been working since I was 15 years old, worked a full time job while also going to college full time. I made $10/hr for a good chunk of that time. It makes me so upset to hear someone complain about making "only $20-something" an hour when this is their first job in their entire life. Can anyone please give me their insight?

@Albundyy Writing down your thoughts here helps you release tension but doesn't change the situation in your office. I don't know why it would be offensive to make her realise that she talks nonsense. Do it in a friendly way over a cup of coffee.

A lot of them have been raised to believe that they deserve only the best and they can never lose at anything. Thus, all members of all teams get trophies, nobody keeps score, everyone is the best. That attitude certainly did not help. Plus, parents were focusing on their kids' "self-esteem" and God forbid one of those kids should think anyone is better than them!
So naturally, they assume they should get top dollar because they are just as good as the CEO who has clawed his way to the top and worked countless hours for enough experience to earn the position.
