So as some people know. I have posted on here that I have plans to move. Ive been applying to jobs even though I know I'm moving. I would like to work up until I leave. My plans were to leave after my boyfriend had received his tax refunds in the mail. That was supposed to give us 6-8 more weeks. I figured that would be enough time to work and make some money to save up. Well my boyfriend's federal tax return came in. We have received a letter that he will not be receiving his state. Due to when had split up once and I went on cash assistance so I could qualify for daycare. They took it because of child support. They take him for it automatically when you apply for cash assistance. Tomorrow is my first day of working. So now my advice I need is should I tell my new job I only plan on working short term because I am planning on moving. Or work a few weeks and then tell them I'm moving and give them a notice of two weeks. I'm worried if I tell them I'm moving then she will not even let me work. But I would like to work until I leave because I thought I still had about 2 months.

Your concern is totally valid. Because your move is a way off, and something could change, I would not yet tell the current employer that I was moving. First, it is not their business. Second, you may have to change the date you move for any number of reasons. You are not obligated to tell them you are moving unless you are asked or required to work for them for a certain amount of time. When the time comes, give them two weeks notice and explain that you are only quitting because of your move. In the meantime, be a great employee as an act of gratitude and to help ensure a future letter of recommendation.

Honestly. It may be best to stay until the end of june or sometime in july. So you guys have a few months, instead of weeks to save up money, and you can take time packing everything youll need instead of rushing. So to me, i would wait til youre ready to move to say anything to your boss. And get what money you can. Cause like you said, if you say anything they may just not have you work.

The longer I stay the more I have to spend to be here.
