When I was looking around for a new cat food, one of the sites I viewed had both cat & dog food and the animals longevity listed. I believe that the site had rottweilers living until 18 years of age. Next time you take her to the vet ask, they can tell you.

I think a lot depends on how they're, what they eat, the condtions thay live under and mainly how much love they get.

I'm for sure, but think 14 is pretty old for a rottie. I have a 18 month old male, and we are expecting him to live around 10 years. My neighbor had to put there's down at 9, however he was over weight and had trouble getting around.

Hiya! Very cute nic I must say (not that I love MY animals or anything, lol). Just wanted to pop in and mention the fact that our neighbors have a male rotty and he's going on 13. So apparently the life spans differ from one pup to the next, some say 10, some say 7, some 15...who knows? All I know is have fun and love her like every day is her last, I do mine! Oh yes...I hope you get to feeling better, and I hope you don't have a hard time getting her adapted to her new wheels! Take care. :)

In my studies of the Rottweiler breeds I found the following:
www.dogbreedinfo.com lists their expectancy between 10-12 years/ also says they tend to snore and over eat ha ha!
www.the petprofessor.com states that the bigger the dog the shorter the lifespan, with rottweilers making it generally to their early teens; double digits.
Actually every site is a stretch from 8-12 years ..so your vet was in the right ballpark.
Therefore, with all things considered, you have an OLD dog there.... Is she still a lively dog, aside from the doggie wheel issues?

I've never had one. But I know that sometimes it even depends on the individual dog as to how long they live (just like people). Here's a good site to find out some info about the breed.. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/rottweiler.htm Hope that helps.
