Turning Mondays Around!!

Why is it that we all look forward to the weekend and hate Mondays? I was just thinking that I'm always looking up fun things to do for the weekend, but never give any thought for coming up with fun things to do for Mondays. Even breakfasts are boring on Mondays. I think that I will spend some time this week thinking up a really great breakfast for next Monday and then just one fun thing to do during the day.
Now, what would you add to Monday to make it more fun!!

Shirley, Shirley... I work for someone... I'm employed... and I'm miserable. Until I have my own business and I'm my own boss, Mondays can never be fun for me. I am just tired of working my butt off for other people who really dont care Mondays symbolizes the start to my employment slavery. I dont want to sound ungrateful but I never expected to feel like this. I joined the work force in 2014 and I have been with 4 employers already and they seem to be worst as I move on. I am actively trying to create my own business to gain back my time and enjoy my Mondays and all weekdays as much as my weekend. When I do I wont treat people how I have been treated in the world of being employed. So yea, when I'm my own boss I'll see to it that I enjoy my Mondays with meaningful an fun tings to do like volunteering and giving back. Probably some mentoring too. :-) But right now... Mondays stinks :-(

@keytime I know being employed is not much fun or easy-I have been there before. However, I did want to point out that when you are your own boss it's twice as much work! Now you have to handle everything yourself and it's very long hours depending on what your going to do.
My husband owns a remodeling company. He works 7 days a week-10 to 12 hours a day. It's not like what people think until they do it. My husband does all the estimates, all the jobs, has to make customers happy, has to listen to people complain after he worked his butt off for them, people complain if he's not there exactly when they want him to be, he gets calls from people on holidays wanting him to do a job for them that day, deals with non payment at times, etc...It's not always the American dream to own a business. =(

Okay... I can see how you feel the way you do. Here's hoping that your own business falls into your lap sometime... REALLY SOON!!

I sound so sad lol I read over my response and it sounds so depressing. But its just the truth. I honestly cant believe that being employed can sap one's energy and drive. I thought graduating at the top of my class getting a good paying salary would have been ideal. But its not. Thank you so much for your well wishes re my business. I honestly hope that I can impact other people's life positively when I have my own business. How do you cope at work or is it that you love your job?

Weekdays are not filled with social life where I live. People get home tired from their work and just want to eat something and go to sleep.

I usually begin my week with water aerobics at the YMCA on Mondays. It's a great thing to do on a day that can be so difficult. Today I skipped it to stay home and wait for the vet to call about my cat. But it's usually a day I've come to look forward to

Hope the news is great about your cat... I remember you mentioning that yesterday. I will have to look and see if there is a program where we live now so I can get involved with something like that. Sounds like so much fun!!

@Hate2Iron Thanks, Shirley! I get the medication in a couple of hours and I'll start right away and hope it does the trick for my cat. We'll be seeing the vet tomorrow, and I hope she can give me some good news, too. As for the water aerobics, it's amazing. My feeling is, even if you can get into a pool and just walk around for 20 minutes or 30 minutes, you're doing something great and you won't feel it! I wish I'd realized this years ago and I hate to exercise. But somehow, water has made me hate it a whole lot less!

Nothing
I work a 7 day week so weekends mean nothing to me.
Apart from sunday breakfast being somewhat busier than weekdays one day is pretty much the same as the other to me.

I have a completely opposite view of Monday, they are the highlight of the week. I'm not able to get around that much both because of financial and physical restrictions so I'm home most of the time. I write, myLot, do surveys, etc. and like to listen to talk radio for company, all kids of it both left and right. Weekends are an entertainment desert on radio. "It's all about you!" is the weekend motto of most stations. So there are programs on fishing, cars, vitamins, old age, real estate, investment--boring stuff. Mondays brings the news, the talk, the funny stuff, interviews, all sort of neat things that keep me entertained and informed while I work.
So there's a different perspective for you on Monday!

You have a social life that I can only dream about. First on my list... find a tennis court. You always have a smile on your face and I know how much you like tennis!!

That sounds exciting! Love the thought. Perhaps get out of the house and go someplace you haven't been in a long while.

I think the Monday dislike is really just an illusion. It's just the fact that we have a weekend of no work, once that ends we have to face the bitter reality of coming back to work. It just so happens to be on Monday. If our typical weekends include Monday, then we would hate Tuesdays. I think that we don't really hate the day itself, we just hate going back to work
