Doctor Who: The Gunslinger.

This is the third episode of the seventh season of Doctor Who. It features Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. It is one of the last episodes featuring Amy Pond and Rory Williams as the Doctor's companions, and to me it is the last "adventure" that the trio experiences. The TARDIS and its passengers wind up in a western town where the town sheriff is in the midst of a battle between his townspeople, a strange doctor that has crash landed in his town and a cyborg "gunslinger" that is looking to destroy the doctor who made him who he is. In the midst of the episode the sherrif gets killed and The Doctor is appointed the new sheriff, which is you are familiar with the show is kinda hilarious. This isn't one of my favorite episodes and to me it has always kind of just felt like a filler episode, but I am sure there are plenty of people that like it. If you are looking to watch your first episode of Doctor Who this is not the one I would recommend starting with.

I considered it to be a fairly decent episode. I have seen far worse and also far better.

I have never watched Doctor Who but the title of this post drew me to it as The Gunslinger is a book by Stephen King.

I thought this episode would be better and agree felt like filler. Dr Who is one show I have watched for a lot of years and miss many of the Doctors from many years ago that have passed away.

@Fishmomma I am trying to get through the fourth doctor episodes now. I love Fifth Doctor, Although number twelve is probably my favorite.

I have never seen Dr. Who. I'd like to get a DVD set and watch it from the beginning.

@xstitcher I can recommend that. I havwnt seen every single episode, but I have seen most of the ones since they brought it back in 2004-2005. I think you'd like it.

I found the episode to be quite a bit of fun. It shows how much the Doctor has come to rely on his companions as he can be quite stubborn at times. Amy does have to remind him that he occasionally acts like he's been taking "stupid pills" after all. The 11th doctor does have his moments. I remember when the Kahler doctor, Kahler-Mas was going off on the Doctor about war I was basically thinking to myself "Oh dear Gods.... this will not end well".... It's a lot of fun and a bit campy at times, but Doctor Who always is.

Well yeah it shows his relationship with his companions and how much he has come to rely on them it had nothing to do with the rest of the series there was no story arc that had anything to do with him becoming closer to the ponds they had nothing to do with anything there was no reason for it to be a part of that series.
