Controversial Comments!

Do you guys ever think that people sometimes just do something so unwanted just to become the talk of the town?
But I do not wanna know about your neighbourhood snooty folks but about our celebrities and socialites. I mean that recently Sonu Nigam, Indian singer, made a remark about 'forced religiousness' and Twitterati thrashed him, left and right. In the ongoing debacle, Pooja Bhatt, an actress, took to her twitter handle and snidely taunted Sonu Nigam saying 'I love the spirit of India'. The people became too mesmerised by her act and began taking her side and supporting her.
Nigam however, stood by his comment in the first place and that is something I personally salute.
I mean, we do live in a free country and we do all have rights to express our thoughts and put forth our opinion. so why, when someone voices their concern, do people pounce on him/her and degrade that person and term their opinions as 'controversial statements'?
I am seriously against this so called 'side-taking' and 'controversies'. I mean, I know life would get boring without twitter-trolls but why do the trolls have to be on someone's point of view?
What are your opinions on this matter and specifically my thoughts? If I stand wrong somewhere I would love to be corrected!
Please express!

@Basilo Yeah, terrorism is also growing its roots like a banyan tree. I mean every major country in the world today is affected if not influenced by terrorism. we are all connected, we are either fighting it or promoting it or just bearing the brunt of it!

@wisdomiscomming I'd agree with what you say. Trolls which are creative and carry a gentle criticism are welcome and never 'boring' as you say. But, this side taking, online bullying and penchant for attracting controversies, is a result of lack of proper logical thinking and a dangerous mob mentality.
