Good afternoon.every year I go through with this.
Last year was a disaster as no one came forth to pick up the litter.
One time the school here had volunteer to clean up.They did not show.
I know a lot of you do not believe in Global warming fine.
Last year with my bag went out to collect disgusting litter on the high way.
Soda pop,Dunkin donut and plus the other fast food places.
No one I mean no one came about to help to clean up the mess that people throw out the window. This is their generation.they have no interest in cleaning up.Why because most of them are very lazy and would be playing with the electronic device.I went to the town clerk asking for help.she told me will give me a call not. This is her town.I do not understand this.
Michael is out there town sweeping the sidewalk and picking up litter.
I cannot do to much for my energy is not the same.
When this first started in the 1970 everyone was Gung Ho
this went on for a few years then bam it stop.remember the ad of the Indian weeping looking at all the litter hurting our country.
I urge everyone. Please take the time and clean up your neighborhood, parks, etc.
Yes,there is Global warming.
Please not backlash.Just state your feeling.
God Bless America and God bless the earth that we live onl

This is a very important topic to my family and myself. It seems that every year less and less people are caring about the environment we live in. my boys came up with a plan to help with this and I couldn't be more proud of them. Every month they choose a day to voluntarily go out and clean up trash. They go out and collect cans and bottles from neighbors to take in to be recycled and they pick up trash around our neighborhood and their grandparents neighborhood I feel proud of them because they are trying to make a difference. I believe if my two little boys can make such a big difference in one or two neighborhoods that a few adults could do the same and the earth would be happier for it. as well as the people living on it.

@amadeo Oh don't get me wrong they are still obsessed with electronics. I have discovered that one of the reasons they came up with idea of collecting cans and such is that they get money when they turn in the cans at the recycling center. I do not mind this though as it is a teaching and learning experience. The thing is more and more people, not just children but adults as well are to obsessed with the hand held device they carry with them all the time that no one really sees the world or whats going on around them. I have even fallen victim to the technical society. However I have not fallen so far that I forget what used to be important to me.

This weekend, our town is having a special day where everyone can take their big junk to the local landfill for free. It is all the stuff that is too big to take to the regular dump. My husband is going to take some of our junk to it that day.

Global warming is going to be more and more real to the non believers as time goes on. As for trash - we live on a country road,, 9 miles from any fast food place and we always have McDonalds cups and wrappers and soda cans and trash in the front yard. My husband has one of those 'grabbers' and he picks it all up.

Global warming or not, it saddens me when people have so little respect for the world they live in.

I always pick up litter and throw it away as I walk. A guy actually thanked me a couple weeks ago.

@amadeo - My hope is that someone will see me and start doing it too. Not holding my breath, though.

We all need to help clean up the Earth. We can all start by cleaning up our part of the Earth. Clean up your yard and the park when you go there. Everyone should do their part.

It seems that the people in Mississippi are lazy too. I see litter all over the roads.

Our area has organizations that send people to various spots on the highway and around the city for cleaning it up. I thought at first that you meant that after you all picked up the litter no one from the city collected those bags, but you meant that you and Mike were the only ones doing any litter control that specific day?
If I were to take part in doing anything like that on that day it would be the first time that I could since I'm usually working on Saturdays. Even if there weren't global warming it doesn't mean that people should be littering even then. It detracts from the beauty of creation and the blessing the parks and other recreational areas bring to those that use it.

It is a shame if no-one other than yourselves are helping pick up litter. People are very apathetic sometimes.
