And they disappeared like magic!

The most common violation I see on mylot these past few days is plagiarism. I see one almost every day since last week.
This kind of discussion has no room in mylot. And thank goodness for mylot patrols (the members who report and the admin as well) for doing their job so well in deleting the posts in a jiffy.
Like magic, poof! They disappear.

In the past I had no idea how to detect a plagiarized post, then JJ taught me how to.

@hereandthere No, I do not believe they were deleted because they were flagged. I have the feeling that they are deleting those that get many comments, hoping to have the same success.

@LadyDuck what i mean is, did you report/flag the post and tell admin that it was reposted?

@just4him I've seen a lot of posts that got deleted that a lot of members didn't see.

I guess it's because they get deleted immediately. Or you might not be on here when they post it.

Yeah, I think we all have to do our part in keeping this community clean so it could last for a long time.

I like interacting than just making my own posts and I always end up with nothing to read if I just read those written by the ones I follow. So I always check the recent posts of the day.
Me and most of the old mylot members usually check the recent posts so we would be able to see all of the posts either by new members or our friends. That also helps me determine the new people I will be following.
That's how I get to see the violators in this site. It's more fun for me.

As it happens Toni, I had made a discussion very similar to another one without knowing it, but it was different enough not to be copying. But straight up plagiarizing is so wrong.

Because of similarities in experiences we can't avoid writing about the same topic but that doesn't mean you copied. Copy paste is definitely plagiarism.

Haven't been here for as much as I used to. These days I'm not sure if there are still violators here but the members are very vigilant.

Right. Especially the members who are quite active here. I feel that as a member of mylot, I owe it to the community to make it clean. So I do my part on that one.

it is good that the admin are quick to act on the violators. As members, we have to do our part in reporting when we see some people violating the rules.

Some members here in mylot have this misconception that this site is an easy money site, but this members don't know how to write at all or have difficulty writing in English, so they thought that they could cheat by plagiarizing.
