Run Down

Today is a me, myself, and I day. I feel run down and so weary. We've been on the go for the last 2 1/2 weeks since our return from Florida.
We had a problem with a leak in the basement.
We had a spring cleanup and our first mow of the season for our lawn. Another appointment has been scheduled for a reseeding in the Fall.
I've been meeting with the decorator, at least 4 times, for window treatments, and when my husband heard the ridiculous cost, I made an appointment with someone else.
We received another free rental from Lexus, due to an unresolved airbag problem, and have been new car shopping as well.
In between, there have been luncheons and dinners with friends and family, errands to run, shopping to do, taxes to prepare, car emissions to be done, and a big black kitty to care for.
I think I'm getting a cold.
Photo is of my granddaughter from last weekend's mother and daughter trip to Washington, D.C. She refused the invite to go to Trump's Easter Egg hunt for her own personal, political reasons.

Sounds like you try to keep busy. My decorator is much more affordable. When I want new drapes....I measure the windows and go shopping for fabric.

@DianneN a little too far to travel.
My daughter bought a new sofa a couple of months ago. I helped her make some toss cushions and recently bumped into a cross stitch one of my daughters had embroidered. The theme and the colours are a perfect match for the cushions....so now I'm making her one more. When it's finished (probably tomorrow) I'll post a photo and discussion about using the materials at hand.

That explains why I have not been seeing you. Quite understandable. That's a lot of running around you had to do.

@DianneN If you are not up to the mark I suppose you will have to choose your priorities.

@infatuatedbby Thanks! I feel super again. He bought me Nike sneakers in lime green. Lol! I do love colorful sneakers and he's bought me every pair I own, except for my designer sneakers. I bought a pair in Florida, but forgot to wear them. Thank goodness I have them here.

I have another huge busy week ahead, but after sleeping all afternoon and all night, I woke up all better. I'm sure it was a combination of stress and exhaustion. Just hope I can make it through next Sunday. I hope you're not sad that the snow is gone.

We also did not do the Easter Egg Hunt. We were in the vicinity at the time, and saw a lot of kids partaking.. but we didn't want to deal with the line and crowd.. We walked around and did some sight seeing instead.
We also were standing in that exact spot on Sunday!
Hope you enjoy your relaxation day!

@DianneN Not much relaxing going on here, trying to reorganize and get ready for the work week. Hubby has gone to get some mower parts so we can do some lawn work.. Fun stuff!

There's always something going on in real life, eh? Different situation, but I feel similarly to you over here. The past 2 days we've had insulation work done to the attic, so I haven't had much of a chance to be here, well on top of other things. Oh, but I hope you didn't end up with a cold! Oh my gosh, I had wondered about the White House Easter Egg Roll this year . . . I read the planning was a fiasco . . . I didn't read much about what came of it .

@DianneN The insulation work is all done! It was a bit hot yesterday outside, and it seemed like it was cooler inside by afternoon. I guess we'll have to wait for the extreme hot to feel the difference.
Oh I'm glad you didn't get sick - I just hate being sick. Ah, you just needed some extra sleep - isn't it amazing what a nice nap can do? Chocolate can do that for me too .
How sad since the roll has been a great tradition for years. I guess it's supposed to be a big thing for the first lady, but I don't our first lady really understands her role in this presidency. Oh I just wonder what the air of the White House is now - I imagine there is a lot of tension there now.

You are so busy with real life, especially with your kids. I hope the insulation is done now. It should be a big help in hot and cold weather and save some bucks.
I didn't get sick afterall. I huge nap during the afternoon and good long sleep was all I needed. I couldn't believe how well I was the next morning. Just stress and exhaustion can make me feel sick, and I was both.
The roll wasn't too good from what I heard. My grandkids went to one two years ago when the Obamas ran it. My dil had an in, because she worked in The Clinton Whitehouse, and still has friends and contacts there.

I'm exhausted, can you pleeeeeze slow down .....
For the cold, try onion, a friend of mine told me that she eats as much raw onion as she can when she's feelin a cold coming on. I asked what her hubby thought of that and she said he simply stuck to the garage work he had to get done. I laughed of course. The thing is she said it actually works.
I haven't had a reason to try that but then I do like to make egg soups which includes at least 1 huge onion.

it's too bad she didn't do the Easter Egg Roll...what a story she would have to tell for the rest of her life.
