Getting Lost In Your Head

I think as someone who likes to write I have a way of getting lost in my head. What I mean by that is getting so involved in ideas, characters, situations, and such that the world fades away until it is far, far away.
This morning my hubby kept trying to get my attention and I was busy off traveling in space and time. I tend to focus so hard on what my imagination is saying to me that I don't hear anything around me.
It looks like you are just sitting there staring off into space, doing nothing, saying nothing, just existing. When I am doing that I am working my hardest.
Do you get lost in your head?

I've heard writers do that when creating their novels @HazySue
Are any of the good authors like James Patterson or Stephenie Meyer ever overweight?

@rebelann It's a way of creating. I can't believe you haven't read one of their books. You have tot 4ry them. There might be a few authors that are overweight but most of them seem to be of average weight. Unless the pictures taken of them are taken at a very opportune time for them.

@valmnz it does. I made characters up for the class one time for a story based firmly in history about the Great Wall of China. I made sure of the historical facts and added a little bit of action to it to help them learn the facts while enjoying the delivery of them.

Getting lost in my head is better than a ton of other things I can think of!

@PatZAnthony Isn't it wonderful how you can create and visit with your characters at the same time?

Sometimes I do, especially when I'm a bit frustrated. Then you tend to be so preoccupied.

@HazySue I guess that's part of writing. You get carried away by the characters you write.

@lclacambra it certainly is part of it. If you don't thin of them as real people you can't make them seem believable to the reader.

From time to time when i am playing baseball on my Nintendo Wii, I do find myself in a dream state.

I get that way when I'm thinking about things which also frustrates my husband too. Lol. I tend to over think things too often.
