RAINWATER???

United States

Current weather conditions have me thinking about ways to maybe get as much water saved for my garden as I can...however I am 99% sure it is illegal for me to collect rainwater where I live.... Is it like that everywhere? I know some places it is illegal to use rainwater and some places it is illegal to use pure solar energy....I dont see why? Anyone have any input?

I would assume everyone would see it as conservation, but in America EVERYTHING is a corporation so if I am not paying for water I am using, they see it as I am stealing money from them Im sure.

@2kids2013 Awwww! That's too bad... Water can't be generated by computers... It comes from the nature that can be dried down I'd we don't get smart in using it. God bless I hope America will have that clear view.... But anyway we can't also blame them all specially if they are people who is really corrupt.

@Trensue the person I know who was written a ticket was fined for something along the lines of not being regulated by city something....meaning his water use wasnt tracked by anyone because he lived by a freaking fresh water stream and had barrels of water he collected! I dont think he had to pay the fine though, but the face someone reported him AND someone had the nerve to WRITE A TICKET is insane to me.

@2kids2013 I'm really unaware of this! What's the reason that they offered you for making this illegal? In my place (India), we were taught & encouraged from young stages that rain water is the purest form of water & to come up with innovative methods to collect & use it. And about solar energy, that too baffles me?
