If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?

Some of us can pick and choose where we live, others cannot. But we can still dream about our perfect spot on earth....dreaming is free!
I would pick Hawaii. I lived there for two years and it is my kind of weather. I lived in the mountains on Ohau so while it was hot in the day it cooled down in the evenings. Proximity to the beaches of the North Shore would be another deciding factor. Laid back lifestyle and super casual attire.
There are two negatives to my dream plan:
First, I don't fly!
Second, the cost of living
So, where is your dream spot in this great big world? Where would you live?

Oh well, maybe you can come close...but I think you love it where you are - but with a little less cold.

I would most definitely choose Tennessee. I have always dreamed of living in the mountains, so peaceful and lovely I imagine. =)

TN, really.....hum, I'll sell you my house LOL! We have lived in or near the mountains for the last 16 years,,,,this house is on level ground which I like better! Sure the mountains are beautiful, but there are tradeoffs. We have friends in the mountains and they are in constant fear of fire.

@LovingMyBabies Well thank you. It is our 4th home in TN and probably the one that makes the most sense for us.

There are quite a few places I would love to live, mostly in Europe. But if I had to chose one, it'd probably be the UK. I did live in Edinburgh for a year, when I was 5. Maybe that's why I would chose Edinburgh, or even just the UK in general. But as much as I would like to live there again, it doesn't seem quite possible, unfortunately.

@AbbyGreenhill I have good memories and beautiful pictures of Scotland. My best friend lives there. We met while I live there and still stay in touch. I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

@AbbyGreenhill Not really, if you just choose the cheapest cabin, and have a companion with you, the cost is far lower than renting an apartment, plus food plus cleaning service.

Plus you would have great food and the view would be ever-changing...of course it would cost two arms and two legs I'm sure!

After growing up and spending my entire life on the beaches of Florida, I would choose somewhere with mountains. I have always dreamed about living in Switzerland up in the Alps.

I watch shows where they build in Alaska and the people are miles and miles from civilization and I could never live like that and be confident. I am not a winter person but worse would be all the darkness. You live in a cold area now and even that's too cold for me LOL

@AbbyGreenhill It all depends on what people like. I lived on Guam for a bit over a year and totally loved it. It is located in the Tropic of Cancer area of the planet, over by the Philippines. Always warm, but the warm isn't hot and oppressive after the first rain of the day.

I don't really have a dream place. There are places I'd like to visit if I had the chance but I don't know about living in another country. Perhaps that's because I've only ever lived in one town. Opposites ends of one town but one town nonetheless. If I could choose where to live, I'd have difficulty as I'd want to be near my step-daughters and granddaughters but I wouldn't want my youngest son to move away from all he knows nor would I want to move away from my eldest (I don't think he'd come with me if we moved). My partner and I have discussed moving away to live near the coast. We live in the English Midlands. His girls live on the south coast of England so same country but about 200 miles between us. So, I'd have to compromise and live somewhere in between! We did also talk about moving to Cardiff but that would, I think, be further from his daughters and, of course, away from my family. So, I think we'll stay where we are for now. Perhaps if we get into a position where we can own more than one home, we'll have one here and one near his girls and share our time!

@AbbyGreenhill There are times I think it's a good thing that three of our children are grown up! (2 his and 1 mine). I'd quite honestly be happy to just move to be nearer to his daughters if it wasn't for my boys.

YOu have have a good family if you want to stay close. WE moved away from family - second marriages don't always fly with the kids of a first marriage...distance between is good for us....but not for everyone.

I think I would like to visit them all first to be sure.. but I like the idea of Ireland.. or Wyoming, Montana, (Alaska is beautiful but might be too cold for me) Tennesee or Kentucky.. I want somewhere where there are mountains and green and trees... I hate living in the city.

@AbbyGreenhill well, we do have plenty of hills and mountains. But not as much in the city. and the cities are filthy.. I would love to look out and just see trees, and skies and nature.
If I moved out of the center of the state -there are places in CT that are lovely too.. but also more expensive in most cases to live.

In TN we have lots of mountains and green trees that's for sure. It's sorta flat where you are right.
