It seems today that a devastating loss in humanity was had. I have received information this afternoon that a friend of mine was robbed last night. This friend that I speak of is a kind person whom life has not been all that kind to in the first place. She is bound by a wheelchair and medication she needs to continue living. She was robbed in her own home, by someone she has not only known but trusted for many years. This man waited till my friends husband left for work, went to her home and waited for her to let him in. He then pushed her out of her chair stole her money, medications, and many of her valuable belongings. The worst part of this situation is is that im almost positive if he had asked, my friend would have handed him money or something of value to sell if he really needed it. I know that these cruel acts happen daily to people all over the world. I am not one to be blind to the cruel nature of humans. It is not only robberies, It is murders, beatings, sometimes just cruel gestures or acts against people that are different than others. I see it all over and yet I can never understand the purpose of this. I do not understand how it helps ones sense of morals to do so much wrong. I do not judge however I wont understand. I can not bring myself to understand.

The matter is that with every good person and every good deed done there are 20 people out there to willingly cause harm. Its truly a sad world

Oh my god. That's so bad. Some years back we had an incident in my country where a boy killed his mother and cut off her thumb and buried her in their yard itself. In fact the woman was disabled and there was an agreement that she would put her thumbprint on the pension card and then the son would go fetch the pension for her. The son was so greedy and inhumane that he killed the mother only to take the pension money. He was conserving the thumb in the fridge. However he eventually got caught.

@AmethystD85 Yes we were all very shocked when we learned about it too. Just couldnt believe that a son would kill his mother just for money

You can't understand because you're a good person. She is exactly the kind of person those evil "people" prey upon. And fortunately or unfortunately, that's one reason I rarely invite people into my apartment. I live alone and have to protect myself and I know there are people who would take all I have if they could have an inch. My heart breaks for your friend. I really hope someone does something spectacularly wonderful for her one of these days.

@AmethystD85 It's been most of my life since we were able to do that. It's so sad that the world changed so much that we're all locked in and the world is locked out.
