I received an offer to work overseas and this is far different from what I am doing right now. The offer is higher than what i expected. The benefits are awesome as well. Plus, the job is challenging and I want to try different fields. I am confused if I should accept it because i will be leaving my 17 month old baby. I am a hands on mom and knowing that i will be away for 2 years makes my heart crushed. It's really hard to think especially if you are a mother.

The cost of living is also higher in other countries. If after paying the rental, transport, food, and other expenses, you still have a saving of double your salary, then go. If the saving is not that high, then no point leaving your baby at home, and earn just a little bit more.

that's true salaries in other countries may look attractive but the cost of living there is also way higher. I work with mostly east europeans and they can't believe how much it costs to live here.

@junmae You can try to get information from people who are working in that country. When you have the actual cost for food, rental, and transport, you can calculate better. Ask about tax too. If income tax is going to take a big chunk out of it, there is no point going overseas.

I couldn't do it. I could never leave my child behind for that long. Only you know what is best for you.

Because the contract is under working visa only.
