A Spectacular Sunset to go with the Music

We went to Fairbridge Music Festival over the weekend. We've been going for quite some years and have learnt to expect the unexpected when it comes to weather. But this year, apart from some strong winds which are always experienced in that area, the days were sunny and warm. There were seven in our group. We parked our motor-homes and caravan all together. At about 8am, Vince would cook bacon and eggs, our friends would make toast, cook tomatoes and heat baked beans. We'd share the food and eat breakfast outside under the caravan awnings before heading off to where the bands were playing. At around 5pm we'd gather back at the camp for 'happy hour' of wine and nibbles. Then we'd head back to watch some more bands. The music continued in one or more venues till 10pm or later. When we'd had enough we'd head home for a nightcap and/or coffee and a chat before heading for bed. We came back to camp the first evening at about five and to the east the sun was shining on some wonderful cumulus clouds. Although this is Vince's photo, he has me to thank for drawing his attention to them and sending him out with his camera. Aren't they just awe-inspiring?

@JudyEv Many times I need to brighten a bit the digital photos, the colours are often a bit too dark.

It's amazing isn't it? He has brightened it just a bit but it really was pretty much that colour.

@sueznewz2 We have two point and shoots and I use either of them. Sometimes I flatten a battery and have to use both of them!

Absolutely beautiful!! And I loved reading about your weekend at the music festival. Sounds wonderful. I love to do things like that. When we went to the beach, there were live bands on the beach in the evening. We really enjoyed it.

@JudyEv Yes, live bands that are GOOD, really are enjoyable. My daughter and I often go to such events. We recently went to see an Elvis impersonator. He was good and the band was really good too. I tried to get some photos and videos with my phone but they didn't turn out well.

What a breathtaking photo! I've see some beautiful things up in the sky but just can't get a photo to show what I see. Meanwhile, your time away sounds like SO much fun! I am just so jealous!

Normally when the sun is setting clouds are not around but here the sun has coloured those clouds. A spectacular view.

@allknowing If you don't see them, you can't take photos of them I guess. This one is brightened a little but not much. Five seconds later the 'show' was all over.

They were mostly bluegrass and folk groups. Flats and Sharps were from Cornwall in England, Les Poules a Colin were from Canada and quite a few Australian groups.

@lady1993 They wouldn't really be world-famous bands - not in a popular sense anyway. Mostly folk and bluegrass bands.

It was a great festival. It will be interesting to hear if the crowd numbers were up or down as it went for four days this time instead of three.
