Have you known anyone to marry a person with the exact same name?

The strangest thought occurred to me this morning. It is not unusual for someone with a specific surname to marry a person with the same surname, but what about the entire name? With so many unisex forenames around, such as Leslie or Toni, this is quite possible. A man named Ashley Williams could marry a woman named Ashley Williams or Rene Carson could marry Rene Carson etcetera. I have never heard of such a marriage, but really find myself curious as to whether this has ever happened. Have you ever heard of such a case?

I found this one online.....
Some say married couples grow more alike over the years. But a recently engaged pair is already perfectly in sync in one unusual respect - they have exactly the same name.

Brilliant, so it has happened after all. I realised the possibility, but seriously doubted whether it would have happened.

@Asylum It is kind of cool but a bit confusing. I guess they should give their future child the same name too..lol

It would create a novel Wedding ceremony. As Laurel suggested, they could name their child the same.

@LadyDuck It would certainly result in an interesting birth certificate.

@Asylum I would avoid, there are enough problems with the documents without giving the authorities an excuse.

Yes, but it is unlikely that their husbands had the same first name as well.

The marriage to someone with the same surname is not uncommon, but for the forename to also be the same must be rare.

It seems that it has happened at least once because someone found a link to an article about such a marriage. Of course I agree that it must be extremely rare.

Yes, it has happened in our family and with some friends if we only talk about surnames. To find a couple with the same exact name, that would have to be very unusual, wouldn't it?

Yes, but certainly not impossible considering the number of forenames that can be male or female.

I think it would be weird to be with someone with the exact same name as you. In my case, if they had the same last name as me I would assume they were somehow related, so that wouldn't ever happen. On another note, my long-term boyfriend and I have the exact same initials (SRB), which is a bit of a weird coincidence. We refer to ourselves as "SRB-squared."

Same Surname and initials, but not the same name. Interesting dilemma it raises. I read things got a bit warm in your part of the country today, a great loss to medical research on cancer:
The Christie said the blaze was now contained but firefighters would stay at the site for a further 48 hours.

Not quite but many moons ago someone at school was going out with a girl. His surname was oyle. Her first name was Olive. Can you imagine the titters that would cause when you asked her for her name!

My daughter's best friend has parents with the same name, although spelled differently. Dawn Arnold is the mother, and Don Arnold is the father. And even more interesting, Arnold was Dawn's maiden name! So she was Dawn Arnold before she got married, and Dawn Arnold after she got married!
