Business after retirement?

I have been thinking of venturing into business when I retire from my job but I have been confused on what kind. So much thoughts have come into my mind. That sleepless nights thinking of failures just in case. trying to assure myself that it will be fine. Whew, another coming chapter to battle on.

this is not a battle. We should view it as an opportunity. Do with good planning. Do not trust anybody.

I hope and pray that everything will turn out right. I saw a lot of retirees who made bad decisions after retirement.

Why do you want to start a business after retirement?
I think it will be better that you buy an apartment in an area with a lot of jobs, and then you can rent out the apartment for rental income.
At least you have money coming in, and you do not have to work or worry about business failure.
This has more certainty of income than any business venture.

It's hard to take a risk putting up a business. Well maybe a sari-sari store will be okay because anyway you will be there everyday to tend to it. But it doesn't have to be something so expensive because it might get a lot of your retirement proceeds which is for you to enjoy and for your future expenses like getting sick etc. because remember that you will already be getting older.

I have search on the internet and read others passion for blogging which they said made it as their extra income. I tried to think if this would also be my line but every time I tried to think of some topics I go blank.

@nita04 You will get there in time. Some writers did not start earning until they were considerably older and then it took them a bit of time. They say do what you love, so maybe writing about or promoting what you love would work.

Do you get any pension money after retirement? No need to worry so much if you make small steps in the beginning. Don`t make risky investments. You can expand business later after you`ve made sure it is working for you.

Yes I do. But not like other countries, we just receive minimal especially if you are in a private company.

@nita04 I see. Try to pick something with minimal investments. If you own a property you can rent one part of it, or if you don`t offering services pays out more than dealing with goods. Just random hints. Good luck.
