Has anyone ever been in an Escape Room?

I have read about it, but it really does not say much. Have any of you experienced it? What was it like?

I've never gone but know people who have and have said they are a lot of fun. You're apparently locked in a room and have to search for clue as to how to get out. One clue leads to another and another until you solve all the puzzles and you're out. I guess you have a time limit too.

That might make me claustrophobic.

People go into this room and look for clues that will help them get out of the room or escape. Each time they get a clue, they are closer to that goal. I have never done it, but know one person who has.

@MsBooklover Does one get a prize once they make it out? What happens if they can't figure out the clues?

@1hopefulman I have no idea. However, someone said there is a timer so you only have so much time to escape. I suppose they come in and get you if you don't escape. Nobody has ever told me that they get anything. Personally, I would rather read a book.

You are given clues and you try to answer them all to escape the room. I never did it though.

@MsBooklover Me neither. I don't like being in a space with no windows + locked.

@infatuatedbby I feel safer. Someone is in control of the room and in this day and age, I am less trusting.

Our grown kids and some of the grandkids went to Escape in 60 at Charleston, SC last year and really had fun. Even the youngest at 7 was able to contribute to their "escape."

@MsBooklover My husband and I went on a horse and carriage tour of historic downtown Charleston, SC while they were in the escape room. They all had fun.

Are you talking about a panic room, if there is someone in the house?
