Artificial Intelligence Controlling Humans

Take not that what I am going to discuss is just an invention of my mind, sort of imagination really. Any incident, which is coincidental, is unintentional. Ok, here's the fictional scenario. An AI, or Artificial Intelligence, is invented by a group of madmen. They use this AI to take control of the whole world. How the AI control the whole world is through people. People are implanted with some sort of hearing devices inside their ear so that they hear the commands, which they are forced to obey.. If they don't follow the orders, they will be punished. Not the physical punishment but the deprivement of the basic human needs. For instance food. To make the story short, my question is, if the newly born are already transplanted in their ears with the hearing devices and when they grow up, they are totally dependent with the so called AI that is controlling their lives, would they then don't have the knowledge of freedom like we people do like now? LIke freedom to do things right then and their without anybody or anything stopping them from doing it? Would their lives be miserable?
