According to me, the right age for social media is 18 years. Below that, child's brain can get distracted from studies and moral things. Uptill 18 years of age, the mind of the children become enough developed to participate in social media and similar activities.

Actually the problem is there are some Adult pages linked with social sites which create unpleasant situations with under aged people!

The Terms of Facebook (and most other social sites) state that the minimum age is 13 and that you need your parent's consent if you are under 18.

AT least in teens, maybe 15 would be alright. My ten year old doesn't use any social media, neither FB, he prefers to play online games instead
