There are thousands of wonderful singers through time with great beautiful voices. There is one famous when I was a young girl that I have always loved and recognize his voice even if he is heard by me singing a song I never heard before. Hes gone now but not in my heart. I even names one of my boys after him. the little blonde one in the photo here. This of course is many years ago. when they were little. That singer is/was the great handsome Dean Martin. He was not as famous as Elvis or many others. but I often confused Roy Orbison with Elvis. and a few others I know did. He is also from my home state of Ohio. Dean that is. lolthe man was also quite the joker and entertainer Anyway, is there a singer you always know their voice when you hear it no matter what they sing? why am I not seeing this link work?

I don't think that anybody can mistake Elvis voice with anyone else.

some can. i have had arguments with people over it only to find out they were wrong. if you listen to their music without knowing by looking at them singing the same song, some will get it wrong. for a long time i thought it was Elvis singing, "Pretty Woman" only to find it was Orbison.

I liked Dean Martin very much. There are several italian songs that he translated to English such as Volare.

He is one of my favorites also! He, not only the singer, he is a good and funny actor and female heartbreaker. I remember him in Rio Bravo and few funny movies with Jerry Lewis.

is the link working from your end? i may just have to edit that. i sometimes get Elvis confused with Orbison and have had others tell me the same

I think that Phil Collins has a unique voice. For me, he is very identifiable.

@Shellyann36 i think so too but seems young people don't care for style any more so maybe he just has gotten tired of it all

before, it is easy to pinpoint who the singer is especially if the voice is unique, like Nickelback or Taylor Swift? but these days, some artists do a lot of autotuning or something, so it is hard to tell who is who

maybe i am just not as in tune as most people are because i have confused Nickelback with another band i can't remember who right now but i love them both. i think its Pearljam or Lincoln park.

@bunnybon7 Linkin Park does have the same husky voice with Nickelback too, even they have changed their music style these days

I always thought that Don Ho was trying to impersonate Dean Martin with "Tiny Bubbles." Dino had a distinctive voice. Most people "back then" did, because record companies didn't want copycats. Now, the opposite seems to be true: they don't want originality.
