Do you buy scratch tickets or lottery tickets?

If you do what is the most you have ever one. I very rarely buy lottery tickets but I do buy a $3 scratch ticket when I get paid. The most I have ever won is $50. I mostly win my $3 back or if I'm lucky I will get $10. It is all in fun. I don't buy it expecting to win anything big. Have you even known anybody who hit the jackpot or won a large amount of money? I know a few people who have won a couple of million but they weren't close friends just people I knew through others.

We only buy the $1 and $2 tickets, with once in a blue moon getting a $5 one. My most won is $10 on a $1 ticket. My moms is i think $50 on a $2 or $5 ticket. Twice i believe. My cousin on the other hand has supposedly won $500 on a $10 before. I play just to play and hope i break even. Lol

I don't buy them, I think they can be addictive. We used to get scratch tickets when we were children but they used to be like a game once per month. I don't remember if we ever won anything, probably only low amounts. I've never met someone who has won the lottery in my environment or maybe I have and they didn't tell me! People who win so much money tend to keep it a secret to avoid becoming a target.

@Happy2BeMe Do they announce the winner's names too? Over here they just announce the place where they purchased the lucky ticket and the identities remain a secret.

@besweet They announce the winters and publish the pictures and where they are from. It is all a part of the agreement when you cash in a winning ticket.

One of my members at the credit union hit it big on a lottery ticket, they won a few thousand. Lost it all fairly quickly too.. gambled it away. That's the problem with gambling, occasionally you can get a nice win.. but the gambling addiction never stops so you gamble it away again. The house always wins!

@Happy2BeMe Yes i try not to do much gambling though at all i see how addictive it can be as my dad has literally gambled away thousands and thousands of dollars he has a very bad gambling addiction he will win a big jackpot and instead of it lasting him years like a normal person he will gamble it all aay ina month

I rarely buy them because I know I will not win anything... But if I have to buy one then I will buy the scratch ticket. If you are lucky then whatever you buy will bring you luck... Not only that, I don't have to think about the numbers I need for my lottery ticket. Have you ever won any money from your scratch tickets?

I used to have a gambling problem in my teen years. I made a promise to God that I would not gamble in any way and so I stay away from every form of gambling be it big or small. A promise is a promise!

I can understand that. If it was a problem and you made a promise then good for you.

I and boyfriend buy a lottery ticket when we are going to the mall or if we saw a lottery outlet while we are driving. And until now, we still no luck. But we keep trying.

I don't buy them, but I will take people's discards. There's a "second chance" website where you can enter in the numbers on a scratcher ticket and possibly still win something. Sometimes I get lucky, and it doesn't cost me anything!
