I hope today is an indication that maybe, just maybe, Spring weather is finally here! Lately it's been windy and cold, and raining and cold...and with temps down to the 30's, it's felt like winter again. Heather gave me marigolds for part of my birthday gifts. I got them transplanted to the hanging pot on the front porch. While out, I discovered that a shoot of the strawberries planted itself in the porch stairs. LOL I'm hoping tomorrow to get my strawberry plants transferred to a bigger pot in the back yard. You might guess that it's not put me into a very good mood at all. The quilt retreat was great, as usual. I feel like I got a lot done. We had a lot of good social times, and lots of good food too. I will be doing a post for each thing that I worked on. How is your first day of May? oh yes, the picture is of another color of my Irises. I couldn't resist a close up with the rain drops on it.

I just replanted my few strawberry plants to a bigger pot....and I start fixing the area for the peas. We might get tomato plants from my daughter if the ones she put outside already survive.

@chrissbergstrom She reported last night that all that seemed to be affected was her cucumber plants. We might get to bring home a few tomato plants after all this weekend.

Lately has been cold here too, we had nice temperatures in the low 70's at the beginning of April and now we are back to 36 F. I love the color of your Iris.

I'm so in hopes that the cold is finally over. My daughter saved out tomato plants for me but I may not get them now as the ones she put out already might not survive.

@LadyDuck A greenhouse would be awesome! We have this metal structure in our back yard that would be perfect to make into a greenhouse if we were only financially able to do to.

@marsha32 My tomato plants are still in the vases inside the greenhouse, it's too cold outside.

My first day of May is already over but I had a great day. First off, I have committed myself not to forget to pray every morning and evening starting this month. Then I did something new and it's waxing. For the first time in my life, I went to a waxing salon for an all natural underarm sugar waxing. It was a good experience and I feel my underarm is so smooth. I also went shopping after that and bought myself a very pretty and fashionable pants that I could also wear to work.

skiing is something I've never done...and I doubt I ever will, mostly because of not being able to stand the cold.

@marsha32 I rode up the chair lift with a fellow from Florida. He said he was not cold. He wore exactly the right clothes to feel no cold.

Our weather is saying that SUMMER is here, and that Spring was just a blip that we blinked and missed. I can't believe how hot it's gotten.

I need a stress free day, but with the things my children do, I don't think that will ever happen.

It's looking like rain here again after one day of sun. I got a little bit of planting done and that's made me feel good.

I love these plants, I don't actually have any but I really would like to get some. I do a 'morning walk' almost everyday before I do anything else. Really helps start the day off right!

Many times I've told myself that I am going to walk every day....never has happened yet.
