Do you ever write a MyLot post based on a picture you like?

The other night, I took a picture of my lantern on my balcony. For some reason, the picture makes me feel really relaxed, and I like it.
I like sitting on my balcony, either by myself or with others, and chilling, or maybe playing guitar or refinishing a speaker.
Even though the picture is relaxing (to me), there's a lot there: my "exploding" lantern, my fading snow peas, my new green bean and sunflower starts, my crumbling Dollar Store Buddha that I got with a kid client (of course I got him one too).
I feel like I should be able to write something deep and philosophical about the picture, but my well is dry right now.
What strikes you about the picture? Does it make you feel relaxed? Have you ever written a post (as I'm doing now) just because you like a particular picture?
(Great--I write a Discussion around a picture and can't post pictures right now. Should I change this to a post about irony?)

Yes, sometimes with a picture I am inspired to write something. :)
But bummer the photo is not loading for you! I want to see it.

I'm assuming the picture is lovely- lol, can't see it right now.
Yes, pictures definitely get the writing juices flowing. Whether it is a memory, or an idea, pictures do it for me.
Or music related things. I intend to write an article on how the heck I can keep counting time properly (without a metronome) when I am trying to learn to fingerpick adding in sustained fourths. Too many things happening at once for this beginner.

Oooohhhh...can you link me to a finger picking song with sustained fourths? I can hear it in my head, but I want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. I just try to count in my head. My ability to finger pick is something that distinguishes me from some other guitarists around here. I learned it listening to my parents Kingston Trio records, and later, Gordon Lightfoot.

By the way, I did go ahead and upload the photo. It's lovely to me, because it's so relaxing. But it's also thought-provoking if you scan it. Dying snow peas (still yielding, though). Baby corn, sunflowers, and green beans. A crumbling Buddha. What does it all mean?

@TheHorse You are light years ahead of me in fingerpicking I play only Baritone Ukulele and I'm not too good at that yet. But, I've been watching videos of a chap called Ken Middleton teaching Leonard Cohen methods on Uke. His version of Suzanne had the sustained 4ths (like at the beginning of the song). On the Bari Uke, DGBE tuned, I play G (E string 3rd fret, then add in B string first fret for the sus) in a pattern for uke that is (strings) 1&4,(together) 2 ,3 ,2,3(sus) 2,3.2. Does that makes sense? It does to me, but it looks like gobbledegook written. Anyway, the chaps name is Ken Middleton, and I found him on you tube.

@TheHorse It's true! At times, a picture can speak a thousand words. At other times, it can revive fond memories.
Well, I've not as yet weaved an actual story around a picture. But that's a very creative idea and worth trying with the use of one's imagination.

To me it is your happy place.I write fiction about Bubbles the Cat that was triggered by a picture of
a sllek black cat that was included in my Jasc graphics
place. He reminded me of a cat I owned that was all
black except a star on her forehead. I loved that cat so much and had to re home it as we were moving into i
an a apartment complex that dd not allow pets.

@allknowing You know, drops of dew (or rain) seem to bead up on my succulents like that. I know I've used this picture before, but...

@TheHorse I have fun finding something odd and emotional to tie to a photo, maybe the half of a masters in counseling peeking its head out now and then

@TheHorse
It has company so it is not alone out there. I also love to sit on my porch but Saturday while I was sitting on it the building opposite ours it sounded like they were having some kind of fight and breaking things. It did not sound good.

I haven't, but it's a good idea. Sometimes I have trouble coming up with ideas to post about.
Post the picture when you can!
