The term old age starts starts ringing a alarm bell in the heart's of many people as, the state of dependence and lack of physical strength and stamina and the ability to manage things will become a big hinderance. The root cause of this phobic feelings lies in the inability to plan up for a peaceful post retirement plan itself. As the prespectives of maximum people hanges drastically towards the dusk of their life journey making them more vulnerable and susceptible to insecurities of the impending future. A question that is always lingering at the back of their mind is.." what can be done and how it should be done". To formulate the solution to this pestering question is to ponder about various options to combat the approaching situation. In this scenario, the primary part should be played by the family itself. The institution of bonding between relationship plays a crucial role in providing them with solid support system as well as solace in being with their own fraternity. The concept of joint family in itself is a good example of interaction and adjustment. The moral and ethical values imbibed by the family system can create a strong impact on the future generations to take care of their aging persons with dignity and grace. Next comes the responsibility of the employment organisations is to contribute to a substantial fixed amount in the bank accounts of their employees towards the superannuation benefit, so that it can be utilized for their post retirement requirements. A strict condition should be imposed against its withdrawal before the completion of their services. This security gives them an immense stability and also makes them independent and self sufficient. The final and foremost option lies with the government to look after their ammeneties and betterment of the senior citizens who has contributed their part in the development in one way or the other. By designating proper pension plan and medical care benefits, a huge burden of fear of senelity can be removed making the live a life of contentment and joy. The veterans need affection, adoration and adaptation to lead a serene and peaceful life in their last stages of journey. It is the transition period where satisfaction of soul is more important than the luxuries and materialistic extravaganzas. When the setting time of their life arrives, the only thought that goes through this fragile mind is to be with their own people whom they lived with, rather than the unknown strangers of any old age homes or hostile walls of a ny hospice. Every person entering into the phase of aging should be given a hope of life with empathy but not with the crutcges of sympathy. The eyes which seen the dawn of a beautiful life should be given a gift of wonderful dusk.
