Do you metal detect?

I found the remains of a whole barn in my backyard, and I found a ring that had been under snow and ice for a whole winter that i thought was gone forever.So, not monetary success ,but personal.

I am a newbie at metal detecting,I got my metal detector for Christmas,I have went out 3 times and found nothing but junk.I live near the beach so this summer I am hoping to find lost change and jewelry from the tourist when they lose it in the sand.

Yes,My wife and I do all the time.In fact we go out lots of evenings with the kids and work along sides of the roads and even in the new construction areas around here.We found an old Necklace in one area where they had torn down a house worth $350.We bring in a good $10 - $20 a day just in change.Some keys,rings,and other odds and ends.
