There are a lot of pros and cons to the ever so popular tv show, 13 Reasons Why. Recently there has been lots of controversies about what was portrayed in the show. Before I further this conversation I would like to state the "side" I claim to be on. I believe the show was great. It displayed the difficulties that most teenagers go through and shed a light on the outcome of the actions that were made. Many people may not understand that the show was not intended for triggering those with depression or suicidal tendencies. In fact, the actors of the show and the directors even explained that the show intended to show the ugly side of suicide. This is because in the real world suicide is an awful and painful so people should be aware of this. I believe that people should see this and think to themselves that they would like to prevent anyone from enduring that kind of pain. The pain that drives them to believe suicide is the only way out. As human beings, we should be lifting each other up in this world. Not tearing each other down.

I have not seen the show at all but I have heard people going crazy about watching it. Makes me wonder what all the hype is about.
You are right though, we should lift others up! We all need encouragement and help at times.

I totally agree with you. And I don't understand why so much controversy about the show when this kind of things are really happening, and awareness is necessary. I liked the show and I didn't find it extremely shocking as some people.

That is what I am trying to do with my Wordgirl fan fictions on Devianart and Archive Of Our Own. Send positive messages to teens that teamwork and friendship is important to deal with life's challenges.

Well said, as human beings, we should be lifting each other up in this world. Not tearing each other down. Welcome to myLot.
